Anthony Argiropoulos, Member of the Firm in the Litigation and Health Care and Life Sciences practices and Co-Chair of the firm's National Litigation Steering Committee, in the firm’s Princeton office, was quoted in the Bloomberg BNA Health Law Reporter, in “$18.8M Award for Interference with Deal Sends Strong Message to Health Industry,” by Mary Anne Pazanowski.
Following is an excerpt:
‘‘It is becoming more and more common for competitors to focus so much on building and protecting market share that they lose sight of the line between fair competition and unlawful competition and business interference,’’ Argiropoulos said. ‘‘Consequently, lawsuits like this are popping up throughout our federal and state courts.’’
The jury, however, said that, ‘‘now that people are more involved in their own health-care decisions than ever before, they are also much more invested in a fair, healthy, and stable health-care markets,’’ Argiropoulos said. ‘‘This verdict makes this point very, very clear.’’
