After a year of working from temporary office space in Columbus, Ohio, Epstein Becker Green's attorneys in the state capital have moved into a newly renovated permanent office in the city's Arena District. …
"We love this area," [attorney Jennifer Nelson Carney] said. "It's really vibrant, and we like being close to the sports and entertainment venues, so when we were determining where we wanted to be, we chose this area and found a space we could completely gut and renovate to our specifications, which was a great opportunity."
Nelson Carney said that another factor the firm took into consideration is the ability to grow further. Since opening in 2021 with 12 attorneys, the Columbus office has doubled its headcount to 24 lawyers and has plans for more.
"This space has given us some excess capacity," she said. "We plan to expand the number of attorneys we have, so we need additional offices from what we had before. The ability to appropriately house all of our current team, create collaborative space and also allow for growth were the main things we were looking for." …
Like the firm as a whole, Epstein Becker's Columbus attorneys focus on health care and employment matters. As one of the fastest growing economies in the Midwest, Columbus is home to a number of Fortune 500 companies including Nationwide Insurance, Worthington Industries and Cardinal Health.
Nelson Carney said that while the central Ohio area provides a lot of work in its own right, the convenience of Columbus when it comes to accessing major Eastern and Central cities like New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C., means that its attorneys can also work on a national level.
"Our geography isn't really capped by where we're physically located, but we do enjoy industry strength in the health care and employment spaces with a lot of significant companies headquartered in Ohio," she said.
