Health Care Compliance Pro Joins EBG

Epstein Becker Green has expanded into Tennessee with the addition of member Richard W. Westling.

The health care compliance specialist comes from Waller Lansden, but has spent several years as a federal prosecutor, an attorney at Ober Kaler Grimes & Shriver PC and general counsel at Medicare Advantage organization Peoples Health.

Westling will be splitting his time between Nashville and Washington, D.C., and helping corporate clients on various compliance matters. This includes aiding them through government investigations involving not only health care but environmental, financial services and tax matters.

For nearly 10 years, Westling worked in the U.S. attorney’s office in New Orleans, serving as first assistant U.S. attorney and an assistant U.S. attorney focusing on health care fraud and asset forfeiture. He also worked at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., focusing on tax matters.

“Joining Epstein Becker Green provides me with the opportunity to expand my practice as part of a highly respected national firm long considered a thought leader in health care,” Westling said in a statement. “During a time of change and consolidation in the industry, I look forward to helping clients find solutions armed with the resources that EBG can bring to the table through its deep health care industry knowledge and its national platform.”

He earned his law degree at Tulane University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts at Sewanee: The University of the South.
