Los Angeles, CA (November 16, 2020) – Epstein Becker Green (“EBG”) is pleased to announce that John “Jack” T. Gilbertson has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Health Care & Life Sciences practice in Los Angeles. Mr. Gilbertson brings more than 20 years of experience providing legal, compliance, financial, tax, and consulting services to clients in the health care industry.
In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Gilbertson’s former practice as a certified public accountant includes an extensive background in consulting, audit, reimbursement, forensic accounting, and tax services to local, regional, and global health sciences companies for over a decade at two of the world’s leading Big Four accounting and consulting firms.
“Jack tackles client issues for his health care clients in a holistic way given his combined legal and consulting experience,” said Mark Lutes, Chair of EBG’s Board of Directors. “It’s an approach that we have long believed in and executed here at EBG, and we are thrilled to add him to our like-minded team of business and legal professionals.”
Mr. Gilbertson’s experience includes assisting a broad range of health care clients—hospitals and health systems, physician groups, academic medical centers and research institutions, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and medical devices companies—with a wide range of transactional and contracting matters. Projects have included mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, services agreements and supply chain structuring, and conducting health regulatory due diligence. He also advises clients on executive compensation, government contracting, and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues. Additionally, he has assisted domestic and global health services companies with corporate investigations with a focus on key regulatory compliance issues, and represented clients in government investigations.

Recently, EBG also added a labor and employment attorney in Los Angeles, as well as a team of life sciences attorneys in Boston. Prior to joining EBG, Mr. Gilbertson practiced for over twenty years at Dentons.
