Stuart Gerson, a Member of the Firm in the Litigation and Health Care & Life Sciences Practices in the Washington, DC and New York offices, was interviewed on the backlog of judicial vacancies remaining for the Obama administration to fill.
The article, "Supreme Court Seat Not Only One Empty," stated that as the Senate prepares to confirm Sonia Sotomayor as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, dozens of judicial vacancies remain, as a result of a fledgling presidential administration and an increasingly partisan nomination process.
Gerson noted that at least part of the delay has been a result of the administration failing to provide a sufficient number of nominees.
"One would think with the majority, the administration could gain some momentum if they had more nominees," said Gerson.
