Washington, DC (September 19, 2016) – Epstein Becker Green is pleased to announce that George B. Breen has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). Mr. Breen is Chair of the firm’s National Health Care and Life Sciences Practice Steering Committee and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. He is a Member of the Firm in the Health Care and Life Sciences and Litigation practices in the Washington, D.C., office.

Mr. Breen’s practice focuses on the defense of clients in False Claims Act cases and investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Inspector General, and other state and federal governmental authorities. He regularly advises clients on, and litigates, complex commercial and administrative matters (including challenges to regulatory actions) and disputes under government contracts. He also provides strategic counsel on fraud and abuse and peer review and appointment issues.

In addition, Mr. Breen is Chair of the American Health Lawyers Association’s Health Care Liability and Litigation Practice Group. He is a former President of the District of Columbia Defense Lawyers Association.

“It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization,” said Mr. Breen. “This fellowship is made even more meaningful because of the rigorously selective nomination process.”

Established as a trial and appellate lawyer honorary society reflecting the American bar in the 21st century, the LCA is composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation. The LCA is aggressively diverse in its composition and represents the best in law among its membership. Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level, or are independent practitioners with recognized experience and accomplishment. In addition, the LCA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy, professionalism, and ethical standards among its Fellows.
