Gary W. Herschman, Health Care Mergers and Acquisitions attorney, in the firm’s Newark office, was featured in Healio, in “Video: Private Equity Market Still Robust for Physician Groups.”

Following is a summary:

In 2022, about 342 private equity transactions occurred with physician groups. Recent private equity transactions may have involved smaller practices joining one of the existing specialty platforms.

In this video, Gary W. Herschman, JD, discusses the robust market for physician groups in private equity transactions.

“The way you have to think about it is private equity platforms have to expand,” Herschman, an attorney in the health care and life sciences practice of Epstein Becker Green, told Healio. “They have to grow. They have to continue to add on both organic offices and ancillary services and acquiring other groups in the same or other geographies to grow. So I think that is the reason why we are still seeing a robust market, notwithstanding the fact that the valuations aren’t going up. They’ve leveled off or notched down a little bit, but there is still a lot of activity.”
