Robert J. O'Hara, Member of the Firm, will participate in the panel discussion, "Is Addiction a Disability Under the ADAAA and State and Local Laws?," at the 14th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference which runs from November 11 to 13, hosted by the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section.
In the wake of the opioid epidemic, employers are facing an increasing number of claims from employees who suffer from addiction. Panelists will discuss the application of the ADAAA to discrimination claims related to addiction, strategies for making and responding to requests for accommodation for addiction disorders and their treatment, and best practices for addressing addiction as disability claims. Panelists also will provide practical advice for presenting and litigating these claims.
