Carrie Valiant, Member of the Firm, will present "The Board's Role in Managing Risk," a session at the Health Plan Alliance Governance Workshop and Health System/Health Plan/Provider Group Meeting, which runs June 7 to 9, 2016.
Health plan boards of directors are increasingly expected to be fully engaged in health plan risk management. This session will provide an overview of the government’s expectations with respect to board oversight of risk management and compliance. Common health plan risk areas and how they differ from health system risks will also be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on health plan interactions with strategic partners and up front and ongoing risk mitigation steps.
