This session reviews real-world conflicts of interest scenarios and provides practical advice on how to handle potential conflicts. After completing this session, participants will be able to:
- Review recent decisions and developments in conflicts of interest law
- Apply the New York Rules of Professional Conduct and analyze their relationship to the American Bar Association Model Rules
- Identify a conflict using the Rules of Professional Conduct
- Determine whether a conflict may be waived and develop an effective waiver
- Understand best practices based upon ethics and disciplinary opinions
