In his presentation, "The State Enforcers Are Here: The HITECH Act and Compliance Lessons Learned," Member of the Firm George B. Breen will discuss the changes made to HIPAA through the HITECH Act and how HITECH has changed the enforcement landscape. He will discuss the legal theories available to state enforcers in litigation over data breaches and will offer insight on how internal compliance programs might address these issues.
