Ted Kennedy, Jr., co-presents "Advancing Disability Inclusion in the Legal Profession," a webinar hosted by Disability:IN and Epstein Becker Green.
People with disabilities face significant barriers to pursuing careers in the law. Despite the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) over three decades ago, which sought to expand opportunities for disabled Americans throughout the workforce, people with disabilities make up less than 2% of practicing lawyers, despite representing about 25% of the U.S. adult population. What are the key obstacles to achieving equality in the legal profession? What role can law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies and law schools play in addressing these disparities?
Scheduled during Disability Employment Awareness Month, this live webinar panel discussion will convene many of the leading national experts on disability inclusion in the law and offer practical steps that law firms, bar associations, and other stakeholders can employ to attract, recruit, retain and advance people with disabilities in the legal profession.
