Carrie Valiant and Dale Bonner, Members of the Firm, will speak at Access Summit: Beyond Health Reform to Health Care Access: Solving Access Challenges to Achieve Success in Health Reform, presented by the Health Care Industry Access Initiative (HCIAI). Ms. Valiant is also Founder and President of HCIAI.
On February 14, at 9:00 a.m., Ms. Valiant will welcome attendees and provide an overview of the goals of the Summit and of HCIAI. At 11:00 a.m., Mr. Bonner will copresent "If Mohammed Won't Come to the Mountain . . ." Topics include removing logistical barriers to health care access, transportation innovation, and the return of Dr. Welby.
Health reform's success depends on reaching the consumer — people must sign up for coverage, and then access needed care. Sounds simple, but consider — many fail to sign up for programs for which they currently are eligible, even when those programs are free. And most currently uninsured people lack relationships with primary care physicians — the entry point for obtaining cost-effective health care services.
To develop industry-focused, innovative solutions for these challenges, the Health Care Industry Access Initiative is inviting senior executives across all segments of the health care industry to this invitation-only, limited participation Access Summit. Whether you are a panelist or participant, there will be plenty of opportunity to network, define challenges, share experiences, and work toward developing best practices for achieving health care access under health reform.
Panels will cover topics such as attaining consumer engagement in the new exchange market for insurance, how health care organizations are reaching consumers with everything from innovative "apps" and social media to the return of the "house call" and the latest in care transitions and wellness incentives.
The Health Care Industry Access Initiative is a non-profit, tax exempt organization dedicated to promoting collaborative action by health care industry stakeholders to improve health care access — both coverage and services — in the United States. It is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to access that is industry focused across all segments of health care.
