Epstein Becker Green has added a former Seyfarth Shaw LLP [commercial] litigator with a focus on trade secrets and noncompete agreements as a partner in Boston, the firm said in an announcement Monday.

Erik Weibust joins as a member of the firm's litigation and business disputes and employment, labor and workforce management practice groups after 15 years at Seyfarth, where he was co-chair of the Boston office's litigation practice.

"We know the depth and breadth of his litigation experience will be an asset to the firm and our clients, who are navigating the most competitive talent environment this country has ever seen," Anthony Argiropoulos, co-chair of EBG's litigation steering committee, said in a statement. "Attracting talent like Erik is a testament to the strength of our litigation practice and will be instrumental in our growth and commitment to client service excellence."

Weibust started his legal career as a clerk with the Second Circuit before joining Seyfarth as an associate, according to his online resume. He was made a partner at the firm in 2014.

His clients include pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, financial services, staffing, and insurance companies, according to the firm. He is also part of several legal groups relevant to his practice, including the chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Association's Trade Secret Committee and co-chair of the Boston Patent Law Association's Trade Secret Committee, according to the firm.

"I am excited to join a firm that offers top-notch litigation and employment attorneys and a vibrant Boston office with highly skilled attorneys," Weibust said in a statement. "It's another bonus that I'll be able to work alongside experienced and esteemed health care attorneys and thought leaders, which will also be key to my practice's growth."
