Los Angeles, CA (January 25, 2021) – Epstein Becker Green (“EBG”) is pleased to announce that Adam C. Abrahms, Member of the Firm, has been selected as a 2021 Minority Leader of Influence in a special edition of the Los Angeles Business Journal (“LABJ”) focused on diverse attorneys.
With this edition, the Los Angeles Business Journal seeks to recognize a select number of attorneys “who are particularly impactful and who maintain the highest professional and ethical standards,” and who have contributed to the Los Angeles business and legal community at large.
“I am honored to have been chosen as a leader of influence among so many other attorneys who are committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in LA,” said Mr. Abrahms. “To me, diversity does not only mean representation, it includes diversity of thought and experience – I applaud the LABJ for their efforts to showcase so many of my peers who are helping to move the needle on diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
“I am very pleased for Adam and wish to congratulate both him and the other honorees for their contributions and accomplishments,” said Carrie Valiant, Chair of the firm’s Diversity and Professional Development Committee and member of the firm’s Board of Directors. “EBG is dedicated to supporting the personal and professional growth of attorneys at all levels, creating an environment in which we can combine our different experiences, diverse voices, and unique strengths to do good for our profession and our communities. We are fully committed to recruiting, mentoring, promoting, and—above all—investing in diverse talent. This is a strategic imperative, as consequential as anything we do as a firm.”
Mr. Abrahms is a Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management and Health Care & Life Sciences practices, in the firm’s Los Angeles office, where he is the co-leader of the firm’s Labor Management Relations practice group and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Abrahms was the first in his family to attend college, receiving scholarships to California Lutheran University where he double majored in Political Science and U.S. History, before receiving a Minority Leadership Scholarship to attend and receive his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. In 2020, Mr. Abrahms was recognized by Lawyers of Color, a nonprofit devoted to promoting diversity and advancing diversity in the legal profession, as a Law Firm Partner 2020 Honoree.
Mr. Abrahms has a history of providing pro bono legal work in the Los Angeles area. For many years, he has provided pro bono representation service for the Surfrider Foundation and is a past recipient of the Surfrider Foundation Board Appreciation Award for his work furthering the Foundation’s mission of protecting oceans and beaches around the world.
