New York, NY (April 30, 2012) — On June 6, 2012, the Epstein Becker Green Women’s Initiative will host its Eighth Annual Golf Clinic at The Learning Center at Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth, N.J. The golf clinic will provide a great opportunity for women executives, attorneys, and business professionals to network in a social setting, where they can not only hone their golf skills, but build new relationships.
“Our Women’s Initiative is now in its 10th year of existence, and we are so proud of how it has organically grown and expanded since its inception in 2002. The goal of the Initiative is to enhance and develop the careers of our women attorneys by providing opportunities both inside and outside of the Firm, where they can network, share information, acquire new skills, and develop rewarding professional relationships with other women,” said Frances Green, one of the co-founders of EBG Women’s Initiative and a Member of the Firm in the Labor and Employment practice in the New York office.
“The events that we host year-round, which range from the golf clinic to wine tastings, to cooking classes, to our speaker series, are designed to encourage and empower our women attorneys to network and market themselves in an effort to grow their book of business and develop their practice,” said Maxine Neuhauser, one of the co-founders of the Initiative and a Member of the Firm in the Labor and Employment and Health Care and Life Sciences practice in the Newark office.
Neuhauser continues, “EBG recognizes the importance of women to business and is committed to helping our women attorneys move into more leadership roles within and outside of the Firm. Several of our rainmakers at the Firm are women who chair a practice steering committee, serve on the board of directors, hold a senior management position or lead an initiative.”
Green states, “We want our attorneys to grow at their own pace and implement the strategies that work best for them to achieve their personal and professional goals. To help with this process, our internal Women’s Initiative program plays a significant role in the ongoing education of our attorneys by providing a platform where they can share best practices, collaborate with each other, and receive mentorship. We offer a wide range of workshops on various topics for all levels of attorneys, including sessions on client development, client retention, networking skills, and social media skills.”
Joan Disler, one of the co-founder of the Initiative and Chair of the Firm’s National Employee Benefits Practice Steering Committee, said, “With nearly half of our professionals being women, it is important for us to create and foster a workplace where they can thrive and succeed. A large percentage of us have been with the Firm for most of our legal career. This longevity and stability is a testament to the collegial and supportive culture and environment that our three founders and current leaders have developed over the years. In addition, our women and diversity efforts have also achieved notable honors.”

In 2008, the Women’s Initiative started the Executive Women’s Networking Blog, which continues to be among the top Google search results for “Women’s Initiative Law Firms.” The blog is authored by partners and associates and covers several issues relevant to women in business. Recently, guest authors have included the Firm’s women clients who hold top level positions.
