New York, NY (January 27, 2022)Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that the Firm has received the highest score possible, a score of 100 out of 100, on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index, the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) workplace equality.

By satisfying all of the Corporate Equality Index’s criteria, the Firm earned a 100 percent ranking. That designates EBG as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality, joining the ranks of other major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.

“We are proud to be recognized for our efforts to create an environment of equality and inclusion for our LGBTQ+ employees,” said Carrie Valiant, Chair of the Firm’s Diversity and Professional Development Committee and Member of EBG’s Board of Directors. “Our pursuit of diversity, equity, and inclusion is an ongoing process. Our understanding of what makes an environment inclusive and equitable is continually evolving, and our efforts will evolve alongside it. This recognition is a welcome signal that we are on the right path and marks a significant milestone on our journey” Valiant also noted.

“We are committed to continue moving the needle on this important issue, which is integral to our Core Values as a Firm,” added Jim Flynn, EBG’s Managing Director.

“When the Human Rights Campaign Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers—from the factory floor to corporate headquarters, in big cities and small towns—could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically,” said Jay Brown, Human Rights Campaign Senior Vice President of Programs, Research and Training. “We are proud that the Corporate Equality Index paved the way to that reality for countless LGBTQ+ workers in America and abroad. But there is still more to do, which is why we are raising the bar yet again to create more equitable workplaces and a better tomorrow for LGBTQ+ workers everywhere. Congratulations to EBG for achieving the title of ‘best places to work for LGBTQ+ equality’ and working to advance inclusion in the workplace.”

The Corporate Equality Index rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities;
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families;
  • Supporting an inclusive culture; and,
  • Corporate social responsibility.
