The nationally recognized Labor and Employment Practice of Epstein Becker Green hosted its biannual symposium at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, on Jan. 26, 2011. The program, “Obama, Tea Party, Health Care, Jobs: A Midterm Review on the Impact on Labor and Employment Law, “highlighted discussions of the significant labor and employment issues that have occurred in the past two years and what businesses can expect to see in this changing economic and social environment.
The event featured keynote speaker Darrel Thompson, Senior Advisor to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and guest speaker Norah O’Donnell, MSNBC Chief Washington Correspondent. Epstein Becker Green’s attorneys covered topics from the effects of health care reform to the proliferation of wage and hour litigation to changes in employee benefits to immigration policies.
In attendance were more than 150 top-tier executives from various industries including, hospitality, health care, retail, financial services, energy, food and beverage, and government agencies. In addition, several media outlets covered the event including, Legal News, The Associated Press, Employee Benefits News, SHRM, and Business & Legal Reports, to name a few.
