New York, NY (October 26, 2022)Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is proud to announce that the winners of the firm’s 2022 Annual Core Values Champion awards are Gregory Harris Epstein, Member of the Firm; Erin Sutton, Associate; and Daniel De Carvalho, Desktop Support Specialist.

Five years ago, attorneys and staff worked together to define and express the firm’s values, creating a Values Commitment that outlines the intangible qualities of EBG that have shaped and continue to define our culture. To date, hundreds of colleagues at all levels throughout the firm have been nominated by their peers and recognized internally as monthly Core Values Champions. From those sincere and genuine nominations, we recognize annual honorees in three overall categories for their contributions to our culture—one Staff, one Non-Partner, and one Member of the Firm. Each person receives a gift acknowledging the award.

“This annual tradition allows us to look back over the year’s many successes through the lens of gratitude for our colleagues and the ways in which we ‘show up’ in the workplace for one another,” said James P. Flynn, Managing Director of EBG. “The 2022 Annual Core Values Champions are a true reflection of our commitment to service—whether it is for a family member, friend, colleague, or client. We are grateful to each of them for leading EBG by example.”

We congratulate the following outstanding colleagues for their important role in creating an inclusive, rewarding, and values-based culture.

Gregory Harris Epstein

Greg, who is based in EBG’s Washington, DC, office and consistently exhibits the Firm’s Core Values in ways big and small, fully embodied them when he rushed to the aid of a colleague whose young relative was suffering from an emergency, life-threatening condition in a hospital across the country. Using business connections and personal communications, he facilitated family access to time-sensitive information and patient access to the highest quality care, special challenges amidst pandemic-inspired access limitations. His selfless acts and intercession demonstrate that members of the “EBG family” respond not only to inquiries to help clients but also to requests for help within our own “families.”

Erin Sutton

Erin, based in EBG’s Chicago office, immediately became an instrumental team member of the firm’s “From Roe to Dobbs”working group as soon as the draft Supreme Court decision became public. Her outstanding and tireless work on Dobbs-related issues and her efforts to build community through baking are just two examples of Erin’s ongoing dedication to the EBG team, and her immediate impact in Chicago and beyond.

Daniel De Carvalho

Daniel, a Desktop Support Specialist based in EBG’s New York office IT Department, was nominated multiple times throughout the year by attorneys and staff alike for going above and beyond, exemplifying EBG’s Core Values of ingenuity, skill, and passion. Daniel is polite, calm, and patient, and he does not give up until a problem is solved.
