Chicago, IL (July 5, 2017) – Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce the expansion of its Chicago office with the hire of Brian E. Spang. Mr. Spang joins the firm as a Member of EBG’s Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice after an esteemed tenure at McGuireWoods LLP.
Mr. Spang has nearly two decades of experience defending class actions, litigating trade secret and restrictive covenant cases, and handling employment disputes in federal and state courts nationwide. His class action experience includes representing a national bank defending wage and hour class and collective actions; defending Fortune 500 companies in the staffing, financial services, and trucking industries against wage, benefit, and contract claims; and litigating multiple class actions in California, Illinois, and New York. Mr. Spang has also litigated single-plaintiff employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FLSA, and FMLA cases and obtained and defended against emergency temporary restraining orders in jurisdictions across the country.

Mr. Spang graduated with honors from the College of William & Mary and earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law. Following law school, he clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge Roger B. Cosbey (retired) in the Northern District of Indiana.
