New York, NY (May 6, 2013) — The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green (EBG) today announced that Jeffrey A. Lieberman, a prominent employee benefits and executive compensations attorney, has joined the firm as a Member in the Employee Benefits practice, in the New York office.

Mr. Lieberman was formerly a Partner with Clifford Chance US LLP in its New York office. His expertise includes advising clients regarding a broad range of employee benefit-related matters, such as the drafting and negotiation of employment, change-of-control, and severance arrangements; the design and operation of compensation and benefit arrangements, including incentive compensation, bonus, stock option, restricted stock, and other equity-based arrangements; and issues under IRS Code Section 280G, 162(m), 409A, and 457A. He also advises on ERISA issues for mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions and compliance with Title I fiduciary requirements for investment advisors, plan sponsors, plan administrators, hedge and private equity fund sponsors, and other fiduciaries and service providers.

"Jeff brings exceptional skills and experience to our robust Employee Benefits practice. We welcome his expertise related to fiduciary issues, corporate transactions, and executive compensation. He is joining our team at a critical time as we have seen an increasing demand for legal counsel in this highly specialized and ever-evolving area of the provision of employee benefits and ERISA issues.  As this need continues to increase, his expertise and skills will be a valuable asset to our team," said Joan Disler, a Member of the Firm and Chair of the firm's National Employee Benefits Steering Committee, in the Newark office.

"We are always looking to add talented lateral lawyers such as Jeff to our Employee Benefits practice in an effort to expand our reach and depth. Our team of employee benefits attorneys looks forward to working with Jeff and integrating him into the team," said David Garland, a Member of the Firm and Chair of the firm's National Labor and Employment Steering Committee, in the New York and Newark offices.

Mr. Lieberman said, "I was attracted to Epstein Becker Green because of its impressive roster of clients and its employee benefits and other attorneys who have a wealth of knowledge and skills that enables them to serve a full range of client needs.  I look forward to collaborating with the team and offering my expertise to help grow the practice."

Mr. Lieberman is a Member of the Board of Trustees for the YAI Networks for People with Development Disabilities and has served as Chairman of the American Bar Association's Tax Section Employee Benefits Subcommittee on Mergers & Acquisitions.
