Firm’s West Coast Team Continues to Grow in Recent Months

Los Angeles, CA (April 18, 2018) – Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that Edward J. Loya, Jr., an accomplished trial attorney, has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Litigation & Business Disputes and Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practices in the firm’s Los Angeles and New York offices. Mr. Loya, who joins EBG from Venable, focuses on civil, employment, and criminal litigation matters and represents companies and individuals in investigations, prosecutions, and regulatory cases initiated by government agencies. He also conducts internal investigations on behalf of corporations, hospitals, and non-profit organizations involving allegations of bribery, fraud, embezzlement, and employee misconduct.

Previously, Mr. Loya was a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Public Integrity Section, in Washington, DC. Following his graduation from Stanford Law School, where he was Editor in Chief of the Stanford Journal of Law, Business & Finance, Mr. Loya clerked with the Honorable S. James Otero in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Harris L Hartz on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego.

Edward joined the DOJ as part of the Class of 2008 of Attorney General’s Honors Program For his work as a federal prosecutor, he received the Criminal Division’s 2012 Distinguished Service Award, the Justice Department’s 2010 Special Achievement Award, and the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency’s 2010 Award for Excellence in Investigation. In 2017, the Hispanic National Bar Association recognized him as one of its “Top Lawyers Under 40.”
