Doug Hastings, a Member of the Firm’s Health Care and Life Sciences practice and Chair of the Board of Directors in the Washington, D.C., office, was featured in an article about how health care reform is creating new business opportunities for D.C. law firms.
The article discussed how law firms with Washington regulatory practices and health care specialties see the new health care law as a potential 10-year moneymaker. The article mentioned some of the law firms in D.C. that are doing work in the health care field. Epstein Becker Green was mentioned in the article as one of the leading firms when it comes to providing health care clients with strategic counsel and service, including health plans that want to understand how changes to the Medicare Advantage program will affect them, private equity groups looking for investment opportunities, and companies interested in bidding on public contracts to administer new state risk pools.
“We’re at an interesting time right now,” said Hastings. “We don’t have a lot of new regulations. We do have the law. It’s not always exactly clear what the implementation would be, but clients are looking to us for answers on what this will mean for their business.”
