The government recouped more than $2.4 billion from False Claims Act (FCA) settlements and judgments in Fiscal Year 2017 through cases that involved health care and life sciences entities. This Thought Leaders in Health Law®video examines the risks FCA enforcement trends have posed for both health care companies and individuals and discusses what entities should consider when working to minimize risks in this environment.
In addition, the Department of Justice (DOJ) recently issued the Granston Memo and the Brand Memo, which address potential changes to the government’s approach to FCA litigation. Although it’s too early to know the implications of the Granston and Brand memos, Epstein Becker Green will monitor developments and bring you more information throughout the year. The firm regularly helps clients navigate complex fraud and abuse and compliance concerns.
