Washington, DC (May 20, 2015)Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that David Matyas, Member of the Firm in EBG’s Health Care and Life Sciences practice, has been elected an AHLA Fellow by The American Health Lawyers Association’s Board of Directors. According to AHLA, “the Fellows program recognizes the expertise and contributions of many of the Association’s longtime volunteer leaders, and provides a forum for the Fellows to remain active in and contribute to AHLA’s future endeavors.” The new AHLA Fellows will be recognized during AHLA’s upcoming Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, June 29 – July 1, 2015.

Mr. Matyas, who is the Managing Shareholder for EBG’s Washington, DC office, has a long history of service to AHLA, including election to its Board of Directors. “It is a great testament to David’s skill and reputation that he was chosen as Fellow by AHLA, the premiere organization for our profession,” said George Breen, Chair of the firm’s National Health Care and Life Sciences Practice Steering Committee. “EBG has a longstanding relationship with AHLA, with attorneys across our Health Care & Life Sciences practice holding current or former leadership roles.”

Mr. Matyas’ practice focuses on federal and state fraud issues such as and state fraud issues such as anti-kickback, self-referral, false claims and regulatory compliance. He also counsels clients on legal and regulatory matters arising under Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payment programs. Mr. Matyas represents an array of health care providers including hospitals and health systems, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, academic medical centers, retail and specialty pharmacies, ambulatory surgery centers, home health agencies, and physician organizations. He also advises investors and other financial institutions that invest in or support the health care industry.
