On June 15, 2011, the Minority Lawyers and Founding Partners of Epstein Becker Green held a cocktail reception at the R Lounge at the Renaissance Hotel Times Square, to meet Stephen N. Zack, the first Hispanic President of the American Bar Association.
Stephen N. Zack is the current President of the American Bar Association (“ABA”). “In a nation guided by the rule of law, I am proud to work in a profession that pledges to uphold those laws. It is important to remember that our laws ensure justice not just for a few, but for all,” said Mr. Zack. “I am especially proud to be the first Hispanic American to become the president of the ABA.” Mr. Zack has four presidential initiatives: (i) access to justice and the underfunding of the judiciary; (ii) the need for increased civic education in our schools and for all Americans; (iii) Hispanic legal rights and responsibilities; and (iv) the ABA’s work in the area of disaster response and preparedness. Among his varied accomplishments, Zack was the first Hispanic-American and youngest president of the Florida Bar, and one of the first members of the Cuban-American Bar Association. In 2010, Hispanic Business magazine included Mr. Zack on its list of the “100 Top Influential Hispanics” and the Hispanic National Bar Association named him 2010 Latino Lawyer of the Year.
