The New Jersey Law Journal’s function is to cover the state’s legal institutions and its most important cases, yes, but also to cover the people who make up those institutions and who handle those cases. Our annual New Partners Yearbook is an important tradition because it focuses on people: newly made and laterally hired partners at New Jersey law offices. There are, as usual, some very recognizable names: well-known litigators, bar association leaders, advisors to former and current governors. For the newly minted ones, we recognize that making partner is a momentous professional achievement, and we offer them a special congratulations.

This 2021 yearbook, consisting of partners made or hired from February 2020 through January 2021, includes 116 partners. That total is pretty close to last year’s 117. This class has the distinction, if we can call it that, of being a pandemic class, and the number of entries in this yearbook is encouraging insofar as it’s further evidence that law firms kept hiring and promoting even during periods of great uncertainty. …
