Ethics and Civility for Government Attorneys, a College of Labor and Employment Lawyers Panel

New York, New York

On July 15, 2011, Barry Cozier and Evan Spelfogel, Members of the Firm, participated as speakers/panelists in a special CLE program for government attorneys, sponsored by the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers at the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission offices in downtown New York City. Over 70 attorneys attended, from the U.S. Department of Justice, Department of Education, Department of Labor Solicitor's Office, HUD, the NLRB, the EEOC, the New York State Attorney General's Office and the NY State Commission Against Discrimination.

The topic was ethics and civility for government attorneys. Judge Cozier expressed "views from the bench" based on his over twenty years as a judge in the NY State Supreme Court and the Appellate Division. Evan Spelfogel moderated the program and led the panel discussion on a series of relevant case hypotheticals. Evan also worked with Elizabeth Grossman, EEOC Regional Attorney, in setting up the program, arranging for the speakers, inviting attendees and hosting the event.
