Addressing Potential FCPA Risks in an Era of Heightened Enforcement
Join Epstein Becker Green, Daylight Forensic & Advisory, and Supervisory Special Agent Robin Gazawi from the FBI's International Corruption Unit for a 120-minute Webinar that will provide an overview of the FCPA; address emerging trends in FCPA enforcement, including the impact of the FCPA on the health care industry; and provide tips on what companies can do to protect themselves.
Enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ("FCPA") is at an all-time high and it appears this trend will continue as the Department of Justice ("DOJ"), the Federal Bureau of Investigation ("FBI") and the Securities and Exchange Commission aggressively target individual executives and board members using sophisticated law enforcement tactics and investigative techniques not traditionally used in FCPA cases. In addition, Lanny A. Breuer, Assistant Attorney General of the DOJ's Criminal Division, has stated the DOJ's intent to focus on FCPA issues in the health care industry, with a specific focus on the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and the recent FCPA sting operation that netted 22 individuals should serve as a warning to these industries.
Stuart Gerson of Epstein Becker Green and others will join in discussing topics including
- Overview of the FCPA and Trends in FCPA Enforcement
- FCPA and the Health Care Industry
- Preventing and Responding to an FCPA Violation
- Elements of an Effective FCPA Compliance Program
- Internal Investigation/Responding to a Government Inquiry
