Prominent International Labor and Employment Attorney Erika C. Collins Joins Epstein Becker Green

New York, NY (August 1, 2019) Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that international labor and employment attorney Erika C. Collins has joined the firm. Ms. Collins joins EBG from Proskauer, where she was Co-Chair of its International Labor and Employment Practice Group. Prior to that, she was Chair of Paul Hastings’ International Employment Practice. Ms. Collins has extensive knowledge of international employment laws and human resources issues impacting public and private multinational companies operating around the globe.

“Erika has exceptional experience advising on significant and complex cross-border workforce management projects impacting multinational companies, such as office openings and expansions and on sensitive issues such as executive terminations, mass layoffs, and office closures, as well as the related trade secret and employee mobility concerns that these significant events create,” said David W. Garland, Chair of the firm’s National Employment, Labor & Workforce Management Steering Committee. “We are delighted to welcome Erika to EBG.  Her reputation as one of the most prominent international labor and employment lawyers in the United States makes her a natural fit as we continue to grow the work we do—providing global workforce solutions for employers under our alliance with Deloitte Legal,” he added.

Ms. Collins’s arrival comes shortly after EBG announced its strategic alliance with Deloitte Legal to comprehensively address global workforce management issues.

“We were thrilled to hear that Erika has joined EBG and will collaborate with Deloitte Legal on complex international and cross-border employment and human resources matters,” said Luis Fernando Guerra, Deloitte Global Managing Director, Deloitte Legal.

“There are incredible synergies that exist between the international employment work that I have been doing for many years and that of this practice, including through the groundbreaking alliance with Deloitte Legal,” said Ms. Collins. “I am extremely excited to join the talented group of attorneys at EBG and look forward to helping build the firm’s reputation as a leader in global management workforce solutions. I am very optimistic about all that we can accomplish together.”

Highly regarded by clients and peers, Ms. Collins has been ranked in numerous legal directories, including Chambers USA, The Legal 500, The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and Benchmark Labor & Employment, among others. Additionally, in 2016, Ms. Collins was admitted to The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a fellowship of “the most accomplished members of the labor and employment law community.”

Ms. Collins serves as the editor of The Employment Law Review (10th Edition), which covers employment laws in 46 countries. She is also a former Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Employment and Industrial Relations Law Committee and is the current Chair of Cambridge Forums’ International Labor and Employment Forum.

A frequent speaker at International Bar Association, American Bar Association, and state bar meetings, Ms. Collins has presented and written on myriad topics, including “Cross-Border Transfers of Executives,” “Global Mobility Issues for Multi-Nationals,” “Employment Issues in Cross-Border M&A Transactions,” “The Landscape of Issues in International Employment Law,” and “The Intersection of EU Privacy and Anti-Discrimination Laws.”
