New York, NY (September 8, 2015)Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that Marc A. Mandelman has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor, and Workforce Management practice. He will be based in the firm's New York office.

Mr. Mandelman comes to EBG from Proskauer, where he practiced in its Labor & Employment Law department for nearly 20 years. At Proskauer, he served as Co-Chair of the Terminations, Reductions in Force, and WARN Act, and the Employment Law Counseling and Training practice groups. He represents clients in all aspects of labor and employment relations. Among the clients that Mr. Mandelman has represented are major corporations in the financial, insurance, publishing, technology, and health care industries.

Mr. Mandelman has a very active counseling practice providing advice to clients on all aspects of the employment relationship, from hiring to termination. In particular, he advises clients on restructuring strategies and the management of litigation risks associated with terminations and reductions in force, including managing advance notification requirements for plant closings and mass layoffs. Mr. Mandelman also advises clients on wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, employment contracts, independent contractor assessments, and personnel policies and handbooks. Mr. Mandelman also regularly represents clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in discrimination claims and other employment disputes.

“We are thrilled to welcome Marc to our team. He is an outstanding lawyer who adds to our strength in the compliance arena, which is as important as ever to our clients, many of which are in highly regulated industries,” said David W. Garland, Chair of EBG’s Employment, Labor, and Workforce Management Steering Committee. “Marc’s extensive experience helping employers navigate the increasingly complex statutory and regulatory environment that they face will be invaluable to our clients in confronting termination, workforce reductions, plant closings, and discrimination and misclassification claims, as well as in other areas.”

“I’ve worked with a number of Epstein Becker Green lawyers over the years, and I’m delighted to be joining them as a colleague,” said Mr. Mandelman. “In deciding where I can best serve clients in the future, it was apparent to me that EBG offers the solutions that clients demand, while providing the value that they require. Thus, EBG will provide me with a fantastic platform to deliver those solutions to clients.”
