Epstein Becker Green Welcomes Paul D. Gilbert in Nashville and Washington, D.C.

NASHVILLE, TN – December 4, 2017 – Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that Paul D. Gilbert, a transactional and corporate governance lawyer, has joined as a Member of the Firm. Mr. Gilbert will divide his time between the firm’s Nashville and Washington, D.C., offices.

Prior to joining EBG, Mr. Gilbert served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Governance Officer of LifePoint Health, Inc., for more than ten years. Before that, he was a partner and member of the board of directors of Nashville-based law firm Waller, where he represented hospitals, health systems, and a range of other health care organizations in more than 100 mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures across the United States; had an active securities law practice; and advised boards of directors on corporate governance, compliance, and fiduciary duty matters.

“With more than 25 years of experience managing the varied and complex issues that hospitals, health systems, and other provider organizations face, Paul brings strategic insights and perspective from an insider’s lens that will add tremendous value to our clients,” said Mark Lutes, Chair of Epstein Becker Green. “We have added several accomplished attorneys in Nashville to address client needs and Paul will be an invaluable addition to our growing team. Also, we are fortunate to have a stellar roster of former health care GCs at the firm, and we are thrilled to add Paul to that list.”

In a rapidly changing and highly regulated environment, Mr. Gilbert is well-positioned to represent health care providers in a variety of complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures, and has overseen regulatory due diligence for these types of transactions.  He has advised health care clients and their boards of directors on corporate governance issues, strategic planning initiatives, contractual matters, and other general corporate issues.

“I am excited to join EBG’s strong platform, and I cannot think of a better place to bring my in-house and transactional experience,” said Mr. Gilbert.  “The firm’s dedicated focus on the health care industry aligns precisely with my experience and interests, and I look forward to assisting the firm’s extraordinary clients with their transactional, governance, compliance, and strategic business needs.”
