Mr. Shah is a Certified CSF Practitioner, a designation given by the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST), an organization that provides training to develop and maintain effective security programs for health care and life sciences companies that comply with securities laws, regulations, and standards.  He is also recognized by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems. Mr. Shah is also recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Certified Information Privacy Professional in the United States.

In addition to Mr. Shah, EBG’s team includes industry-recognized privacy and security professionals, and the firm is the only law firm that is a HITRUST CSF Assessor. The firm’s privacy and security group offers legal services relating to all aspects of data privacy and protection, including data breach defense, protection and compliance strategies, risk assessments, and insider threat management, among others.

“We are always thrilled to welcome alumni back to the firm after they spend time in industry positions.  It’s a win-win for us and our clients and we have a strong roster of attorneys who have done so,” said George B. Breen, Chair of the firm’s National Health Care and Life Sciences Practice Steering Committee.  “With privacy and security issues at the top of mind of our clients, Alaap’s credentials and industry certifications will help strengthen our team’s ability to provide exceptional knowledge and insights to clients as they work to keep their most sensitive data safe and secure.”

“I began my career at EBG so returning to a firm that provides interesting work and is filled with professionals that I know and admire is an opportunity that I am really looking forward to,” said Mr. Shah.  “The firm provides an outstanding platform from which attorneys can learn and grow and I am hopeful that all of my past experiences from inside and outside of the firm will add value to our clients.”
