EBG is also proud to announce that René Quashie, Senior Counsel in EBG’s Health Care and Life Sciences practice, has been recognized as part of AHLA’s Class of 2014 Pro Bono Champions, which was announced by AHLA at this year’s Annual Meeting in Washington, DC (June 29 – July 1, 2015). The Pro Bono Champion Awards recognize AHLA member lawyers who have provided significant pro bono legal services in the health care/health law field, helping to increase the availability and quality of health care or otherwise providing important access to the legal system for those in need. According to AHLA, those recognized “represent excellence in fulfillment of the volunteer tradition of the legal profession.”

In addition, David Matyas,a Member of the Firm in EBG’s Health Care and Life Sciences practice, has been elected an AHLA Fellow by AHLA’s Board of Directors. EBG’s Chair Emeritus Doug Hastings has served as an AHLA Fellow since 2005, following his tenure as AHLA President from 2001 to 2002.
