BTI's 'Client Service 30' ranking comes after earlier high scores in American Lawyer's 'Women in Law Firms' Study and Minority Law Journal's 2009 'Diversity Scorecard'

Washington, DC (November 18, 2009) — Epstein Becker Green is pleased to announce that it has been ranked 16th among law firms nationwide for outstanding client service in the ninth annual "Client Service A-Team" report issued by BTI Consulting Group Inc.

The BTI survey comes on the heels of high Epstein Becker Green rankings earlier this year in two separate surveys rating law firm diversity: American Lawyer's inaugural "Women in Law Firms" study in June, and The Minority Law Journal's 2009 "Diversity Scorecard," which was released in May. Epstein Becker Green is the only U.S. law firm to be listed in the Top 20 in all three survey rankings.

According to the BTI survey, "Corporate counsel rely on Epstein Becker Green's attorneys for their superior legal skills and attention to delivering results." Respondents reported Epstein Becker Green partners' "experience is tremendous" and "they get results."

In the survey, BTI asked 240 corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies to name the law firms they believe excel in 17 criteria by which they choose and evaluate outside counsel. The consulting firm then ranked the 30 law firms most commonly chosen throughout the study for inclusion in its elite "BTI Client Service 30" list. Epstein Becker Green was named in 16 of the 17 criteria, including: Anticipates the Client's Needs; Deals with Unexpected Changes; Breadth of Services; Brings Together National Resources; Client Focus; Commitment to Help; Handles Problems; Helps Advise on Business Issues; Keeps Clients Informed; Legal Skills; Meets Scope and Budget; Provides Value for the Dollar; Quality Products; Regional Reputation; Understands the Client's Business; and Unprompted Communication.

In June, the Epstein Becker Green was ranked in American Lawyer's inaugural "Women in Law Firms" study as 8th among the 200 largest law firms in the United States for its percentage of women attorneys and among the top ten for percentage of women in the partnership ranks. A month earlier, The Minority Law Journal's 2009 "Diversity Scorecard" ranked the Firm 6th in the nation for the highest percentage of minority partners and 17th for its combination of minority partners and overall minority attorneys. American Lawyer noted in its coverage that Epstein Becker Green was one of only four law firms to make the Top 20 in both surveys.

"We are extremely gratified to be recognized for our superior client service and our inclusiveness," said Doug Hastings, Chair of Epstein Becker Green. "Both client service excellence and diversity have been core values of Epstein Becker Green since its founding 36 years ago, and these survey recognitions are evidence of that. While we appreciate this recognition, we intend to rededicate ourselves to these core values and work hard everyday to exceed our clients' expectations."
