New York, NY (August 23, 2010) — National law firm Epstein Becker Green today announced that Andrew Lemons, a seasoned health care attorney, has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice. He will be based in the Firm's Atlanta office.
Lemons was previously part of the Health Law Group of Baker Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, in Birmingham, Ala. He concentrates his practice on regulatory and transactional matters with a particular focus on clinical research related issues. Lemons has extensive experience advising anatomic pathology laboratories, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, and hospitals on a variety of health care issues, including government investigations; contracting and compliance; fraud and abuse; reimbursement; and licensure, certification and accreditation issues.

Lemons received his J.D. in 1997 from Wake Forest University, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board. While at Wake Forest, Lemons assisted Professor Mark A. Hall with the preparation of his textbook Health Care Law and Ethics. After receiving his bachelor's of science degree in biology in 1991 from Birmingham-Southern College, Lemons conducted immunology research in the Departments of Transplant Surgery and Pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a member of the Alabama and Georgia State Bar Associations and was vice chair of the American Health Lawyers Association Teaching Hospitals and Academic Medical Centers Practice Group from 2003 to 2009. Lemons has been listed among The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of Health Care Law since 2009 and was recognized in the Birmingham Business Journal's "Who's Who in Health Care" in 2007.
