Washington, DC (November 18, 2014) – The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green is pleased to announce that Stephanie Poucher will be awarded the Robert D. Reif Fellowship in Legal Ethics and Professional Values at a reception at the Firm’s Washington, DC, office on December 9th. Epstein Becker Green created the Robert D. Reif Fellowship in 2012 with the assistance of American University Washington College of Law. The mission of the Fellowship is to honor the memory of Epstein Becker Green’s longtime partner Bob Reif by furthering his commitment in the practice of law to maintaining the highest level of ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with clients, fellow attorneys, and the community.

After a review of essays submitted on topics involving legal ethics and professional values, three finalists were interviewed, and Ms. Poucher, a second-year law student at American University Washington College of Law, was chosen by the Selection Committee to receive the Firm’s second Fellowship award. Ms. Poucher’s paper is titled “Extending Gideon’s Promise to Those Unknowingly Facing Deportation: Does a Noncitizen Have a Right to Counsel When Facing Charges That Do Not Carry Jail Time, But Nevertheless Constitute a Deportable Offense?” Ms Poucher will present an overview of her paper at the reception.

The Firm also congratulates finalists Claire Rozdilski, who submitted “What’s the Deal with Daily Deals? An Ethical Dilemma,” and Andrew Sletten, whose submission was titled “E-Discovery and Its Implications for the ABA Model Rules” for their exceptional essays.
