Mr. Brenner’s extensive litigation experience includes the representation of management and employers in employment disputes before state and federal courts, in alternative dispute resolution venues, and before state and federal administrative agencies.  Among his many litigation accomplishments, Mr. Brenner has successfully achieved denial of certification in several high-profile class actions.

Employers from a wide range of industries, including financial services and health care, have sought out Mr. Brenner’s advice for wage and hour compliance, workplace investigations, and the use of restrictive covenants to protect employer business interests, among other things.  Additionally, Mr. Brenner has deep experience advising management on employee terminations, including high-level and sensitive employee separations and the implementation of layoffs and reductions in force.  He also has substantial experience advising academic institutions on employment and other matters.

“Jonathan is a terrific lawyer who brings wonderful experience to our Los Angeles office and the seasoned judgment that is highly valued by employers,” said David W. Garland, Chair of EBG’s Employment, Labor & Workforce Management Steering Committee.  “Adding lawyers with Jonathan’s credentials and reputation to our growing super-boutique practice, which focuses exclusively on workforce management issues, continues to be our strategy, and we are very pleased to welcome him to the firm.”

“I am excited to join EBG and become a member of its labor and employment team.  In moving my practice to EBG, I was attracted to the firm’s culture of excellence, stellar reputation, and exemplary client service, as well as its nationwide depth of experience in handling labor and employment problems for clients.  EBG’s platform is an outstanding fit for my practice, which focuses on representing employers in matters throughout the United States,” said Mr. Brenner.
