Crash Course Webinar Series
We know you are busy and want to stay current on trending issues, whether you’re a compliance officer, privacy officer, or just curious as to how the Privacy and Security Rules affect your organization.
To meet this need, we created a “crash course” webinar series hosted by Epstein Becker Green attorneys, in June 2015.
You can pick and choose sessions or watch all five 15-minute sessions, depending on your availability and level of interest. In each compact, 15-minute installment, we guide you through a different privacy and security issue.
Presented by Adam C. Solander, Nathaniel M. Glasser
Whether ill-intentioned or not, employees are a frequently cited source of security incidents that organizations often overlook. Security incidents caused by employees are often more devastating to an organization than those caused by external sources. However, employers looking to address insider threats can find it difficult to draw the line between company security and employee privacy. In this crash course webinar, we’ll walk through the key privacy and security questions employers should ask themselves when delicately balancing these two often competing concerns.
Presented by Evan J. Nagler
Companies today collect massive amounts of data, but often aren’t aware of the legal and regulatory restrictions on what they can do with that information. Sharing, aggregating, de-identifying, and otherwise putting data to use all come with certain types of restrictions, and compliance can be tricky. In this crash course webinar, we’ll walk through the key questions companies should ask themselves when using data.

Conducting a risk assessment is the first step in evaluating risks and vulnerabilities and implementing security measures to protect information assets. However, while HIPAA requires organizations to conduct regular risk assessments, it does not prescribe any specific methodology. In this crash course webinar, we’ll walk you through how to conduct a risk assessment tailored to your organization’s size, complexity, and capabilities.

After an organization has conducted a risk assessment and identified risks and vulnerabilities, key decisions must be made on how to manage and mitigate those risks to acceptable levels. In this crash course webinar, we’ll walk you through prioritizing risks and deciding what security measures to implement.
