René Y. Quashie, Senior Counsel, and Amy F. Lerman, Associate, in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the firm's Washington, DC, office, participated in a Law Review Q&A titled “How Employers Can Address Legal and Regulatory Issues in Telehealth.”
Following is an excerpt:
Patient satisfaction with telehealth is incredibly high, and both employers and employees are taking notice. Employees love the convenience of being able to connect with clinicians through simply an internet connection, while employers love the cost savings telehealth provides them through a reduction in employees' paid time off (PTO) to seek care, reduced overhead, and overall healthier employees.
However, a number of legal and regulatory issues related to telehealth loom. We spoke with René Quashie and Amy Lerman at Epstein, Becker & Green to discuss key legal and regulatory issues implicated by the use of telehealth technologies and how these issues may be addressed by employers seeking to offer access to telehealth services to their employees.
