Following is an excerpt:

Q: What aspects of regulation affecting your practice are in need of reform, and why?

A: There are a few areas of regulation that are in need of reform, including multistate licensure of health care providers and the corporate practice of medicine. As health care providers expand the use of technology allowing telehealth and telemedicine services, the current state licensure laws require that a provider be licensed in the state of the patient. This requires providers to become licensed in multiple states or limit the services they provide. Another area of regulation needing reform is the prohibition on the corporate practice of medicine found in many states. As health care services continue to be provided in innovative ways, this prohibition inhibits some companies from implementing new models of practice on a national basis.
