New York, NY (November 5, 2013) — The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green is pleased to announce that Bethany J. Hills, a seasoned FDA and corporate compliance attorney, has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the New York office.

Hills was previously a Partner with Hodgson Russ in New York. Her practice focuses on counseling life science, medical device, and health care provider businesses on a broad range of reimbursement, regulatory, and compliance matters. She advises FDA-regulated businesses on domestic and foreign regulatory compliance, including import and export issues, pre-enforcement investigations and inspections, regulatory submissions for product approvals, collaborative agreements for research, reimbursement issues, supply and distribution, product labeling, and structuring financing arrangements. In addition, Hills regularly works with a wide range of New York health care providers in focused reimbursement matters, including rate appeals, Office of Medicaid Inspector General audit defense, new program development under the Medicaid Redesign Team priorities, and federal Medicaid waiver program compliance.

"As the health care and life sciences industries continue to evolve and change at a rapid pace, we are always looking for talented attorneys whose knowledge complement our core brand and add value to our clients. Bethany's FDA and compliance experience strengthens our team in the life sciences and provider spaces," said George Breen, Chair of the firm's National Health Care and Life Sciences Practice Steering Committee.

Hills said, "Epstein Becker Green's depth and breadth of experience in the life sciences and reimbursement space is truly top notch. Their FDA team has a strong national and international reputation in the industry and is skilled in helping clients navigate through this complex regulatory environment. This, along with the firm's strong corporate compliance focus, will provide me with the platform I need to service my client's needs in a comprehensive, responsive way."

In addition, Epstein Becker Green announced that Leonard Lipsky, previously with Hodgson Russ, joined as an Associate in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the New York office. Lipsky provides strategic advice to health care providers on regulatory and corporate matters in areas such as Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, the federal Anti-Kickback Statute and safe harbors, the Stark Law, the New York Practitioner Self-Referral Act, and the New Jersey Codey Law. He also regularly advises health care providers in connection with corporate formation, structuring, licensing, and the negotiation and execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.

"We are pleased to have Bethany and Leonard on board, and we look forward to integrating them into the Health Care and Life Sciences practice both in New York and in the other cities where we are located," said Peter Altieri, Managing Shareholder of the firm's New York office.
