Epstein Becker Green’s recent event, “The Future of Physician Groups: Consolidation & Strategic Positioning as Reimbursement Undergoes Transformation,” was featured in NJBiz, in “The Future of Private Practice Was Among Key Topics at Health Care Event,” by Anjalee Khemlani. The article discusses the changing health landscape, namely physicians choosing to work in private practices or hospitals, due to rising costs, changing infrastructure, and the effects of a new administration. Gary W. Herschman, a Member of the Firm who spoke at the event, was also mentioned in the article.

Following is an excerpt:

Gans was one of several speakers at an event focused on the future of physicians hosted by the Epstein Becker & Green law firm Tuesday in New York City.

Representatives from Summit Medical Group, New Jersey's largest multispecialty group, and Riverside Medical Group, a growing group in northern New Jersey, also spoke at the event.

The discussions focused on the various consolidation options and how to maximize the potential in each — whether it be through clinical integration or being absorbed into a management company.

But reports have shown hospitals that absorbed physician groups have already seen a loss from the move, said EBG attorney Gary Herschman.
