Ed Brown Interviewed on CNBC’s ‘Closing Bell’ About Tax Relief for Madoff Investors

The Closing Bell

Edward Brown, a Member of the Firm in the Business Law Practice and Tax Law and Estate Planning practices in the Atlanta office, was interviewed on the CNBC television news program "Closing Bell" about legal issues facing investors who seek to recoup taxes paid on money lost to Bernard Madoff, who has been charged with fraud for rigging an alleged $50 billion Ponzi scheme.

Brown pointed out that while it will take time to determine whether past gains were real or fictitious, investors should immediately consult with their tax advisors concerning amending their 2005 income tax return and should also begin to work with their tax and legal advisors in determining whether they have a claim for a current tax deduction due to a casualty/theft loss.
