Bradley Merrill Thompson, general counsel for the mHealth Regulatory Council, said of the announcement: “This is a good — but not great — day for health information technology. Three of the guidance documents that we have been strenuously urging FDA to issue got moved from the B category last year to the A category this year. Those include: general wellness products, medical device accessories, medical device decision support software. We do wish the interoperability issue were also in group A.”
