Raja Sékaran, John Puente, Melissa Borrelli have joined Epstein Becker Green as members of the health care and life sciences practice in San Francisco, the firm said Wednesday.

Sékaran, who served as senior counsel in the Office of Inspector General for HHS, represents health care delivery systems, medical groups, independent practice associations, health plans, hospitals, private equity investors, and California’s private insurance exchange for small-group employers, according to Epstein Becker Green.

Puente was deputy director and chief counsel of the California Department of Health Care Services, general counsel for the Medical Board of California, and deputy director at the California Department of Managed Health Care. Borrelli represents payors, health systems, and providers in the health, managed care, and health insurance industry, Epstein Becker Green said.

They are joined by two senior counsels, Paul DeMuro and Jeremy Avila, and an associate, James Reilly.
