Hyatt Regency Crystal CityArlington, VA

George Breen and Daniel Gospin, Members of the Firm, copresent "Preparing for and Living Through a RAC Audit: What Labs Need to Know" at Lab Institute 2013, which runs from Oct. 16 to 18.

Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs) began reviewing Medicare claims in October 2009, and by all accounts, they are getting better at what they do. Since the program began, they have collected more than $3 billion in overpayments. This session examines what RACs are looking at, and the speakers will discuss what labs can do to prepare for, and respond to, a RAC audit.

Learning Objectives:

  • Get insight into what RACs are looking for when they audit lab claims
  • Find out how to prepare for and respond to a RAC audit
  • Learn how to challenge RAC findings and strategically plan Medicare appeals
