Standard, a Member of the Firm, was recently recognized with "The Honorable George Bundy Smith Pioneer Award" by the New York State Bar Association's Commercial and Federal Litigation Section on March 18, 2013, at its annual Smooth Moves program in New York.

The award was presented by the Honorable George Bundy Smith, retired justice of the New York Court of Appeals, whose efforts to advance the cause of civil rights ranged from his experiences as a Freedom Rider, to drafting appellate briefs in the successful effort to gain admission for James Meredith to the University of Mississippi, to years of distinction on the bench.
