NEW YORK (April 8, 2013) — The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that it was recently recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal in the publication's "Litigation Departments of the Year" competition. The firm was selected as a finalist in the Labor and Employment category. This marks the publication's first list of leading litigation departments, which evaluated law firms with a New Jersey presence and significant litigation results in 2012.
The New Jersey Law Journal described EBG as follows:
The firm defends individual and class-action cases in judicial, administrative and arbitral forums. Recent successes include defense of wrongful discharge, breach of employment contract, misclassification of employees, misappropriation of trade secrets, violations of noncompete agreements, discrimination, retaliation and whistleblower claims.?...
The firm's strengths in litigation management include effective docket management through technology; cost control through leveraging of staff and grouping of cases for disposition; an overall understanding of multidistrict litigation; seasoned attorneys able to litigate anywhere given the firm's national presence; knowledge of a broad range of liability issues, legal theories and expert witness; familiarity with the members of the plaintiffs' bar; and continued efforts to improve and refine case management and cost control.
The EBG attorneys recognized as "Major Litigators" included Patrick Brady, Denise Dadika, James Flynn, David Garland, Joseph Guarino, Carmine Iannaccone, Maxine Neuhauser, John O'Connor, Clara Rho, Michael Thompson, and Sheila Woolson.
Noteworthy cases that were recognized included Schmidt v. Celgene Corp., Aquilino v. Home Depot U.S.A. Inc., Andrews v. Home Depot U.S.A. Inc., White v. Starbucks Corp., Heightened Independence and Progress Inc. v. Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Cuozzo v. Davis-Standard LLC, and Kaspi v. Home Depot.
"This is a great distinction for the attorneys in our Litigation and Labor and Employment practices in our New Jersey office, and we are extremely proud of them. This honor is truly a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to client service," said Kenneth J. Kelly, Chair of EBG's National Litigation Steering Committee.
About EBG's Litigation Practice:
Epstein Becker Green's national Litigation practice offers a broad range of experience in both civil and criminal cases. While every matter is unique, we feel that our experience in several core industries, including health care and life sciences, hospitality, and financial services, and the efficiency with which we can handle matters from inception through resolution are highly valued by our clients. We are recognized for providing an aggressive yet thoughtful approach to each matter, and defending our clients' interests without ever losing sight of our primary goal—resolving disputes in a way that meets their legal and business objectives.
Our litigators know the intricacies of modern investigations and litigations and include former judges, U.S. Department of Justice civil and criminal prosecutors, appellate and trial court law clerks, and corporate counsel. At the early stages of a dispute, our litigators work closely with the CEO, general counsel, and governing board of a client to develop a litigation strategy that addresses the client's needs with insight and perceptive. It's all part of our "boutique approach"—tailored service that provides the focused experience of a boutique firm with the ability to draw upon the resources of our other national practices: Health Care and Life Sciences, Labor and Employment, Corporate Services, and Employee Benefits.
