Epstein Becker Green Attorneys Receive 2014 Burton Award for Legal Writing

NEW YORK (April 22, 2014) — The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green is pleased to announce that Adam Solander has been selected as a recipient of a 2014 Burton Award for Legal Writing for their article that was published in the July 10, 2013, issue of Bloomberg BNA's Daily Labor Report titled "For Employers with High Turnover and Large Numbers of Seasonal Workers, the ACA Creates Unique Compliance Issues." The article discussed how the Affordable Care Act ("ACA") provides unique compliance obligations for employers in certain industries, especially those with large numbers of part-time and seasonal workers, and companies that may comprise multiple smaller employers.

The Burton Award for Legal Writing, given in association with the Library of Congress, was presented to only 30 authors this year from entries submitted by the nation's top 1,000 most prestigious and largest law firms. The winners were selected by a distinguished panel of judges and law school professors from Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, and Stanford Law School.

"I am honored to be a recipient of a Burton Award for our article. I felt that it was important to write a piece that would serve to inform and educate high-turnover employers about the ACA and its unique compliance obligations," said Adam Solander, an Associate in the firm's Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the Washington, D.C., office.

The Burton Awards Program is funded by the Burton Foundation, which is a nonprofit, academic effort devoted to recognizing and rewarding excellence in the legal profession. The program was established in 1999 to honor the finest accomplishments in law, including writing, reform, public service and interest, regulatory innovation, and lifetime achievements in the profession.
